Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
My name is Sylvia Akingbade, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have worked in the mental health field for over seven years, providing support to children, adults, and individuals who are elderly or living with disabilities. Through these years of experience, I’ve come to deeply understand that we all need someone to help us process life’s challenges. Sitting with people from all walks of life, I’ve realized that this work is more than a career—it’s my calling.
I approach therapy with a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy. CBT offers a collaborative framework where we work together to identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, always keeping your goals at the forefront. Person-Centered Therapy allows you to take the lead in our sessions, creating a space that is driven by your needs and comfort level. I believe in meeting you where you are, with empathy and without judgment.
In every session, my goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. You are in control of your journey, and I am here to guide and support you along the way. I believe that when we focus on you as a whole person, the path to healing becomes clearer. It takes courage to take the first step, and I encourage you to keep showing up—for yourself and for the growth you’re seeking.
I look forward to walking alongside you on this journey.

Sylvia Akingbade is a licensed professional counselor practicing in Texas with eight years of experience in the mental health field. She has provided support to children, adults, older adults, and people living with disabilities, developing a deep understanding of how helpful it can be to have someone to process life’s challenges with.
Her therapeutic approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with person-centered methods. Sylvia considers this work more than a career – it is her calling. She encourages taking the first brave step and continuing to show up for the growth one seeks, and she looks forward to walking alongside individuals as they pursue their goals.
Many people wonder whether therapy delivered online can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A key advantage is flexibility – individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that works best for them, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This variety of options often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
Each therapist is a licensed professional, and if someone wants a different fit they can switch therapists at any time.
