Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Though I have 28 years of experience working in various mental health areas, my current focus is on trauma, as well as grief and loss issues especially those related to infant loss, miscarriage and fertility challenges. I have both personal and professional experience with these issues. My training is the area of Art Therapy and I use a midfullness approach. Processing issues visually, through the use of art materials is both enjoyable and allows for a short-cut to our emotion centers.
Outside of work I enjoy being in nature with my family, hiking, boating, camping, and paddleboarding. I practice yoga and enjoy playing volleyball.

With 28 years of clinical experience, Susan Jacobsen concentrates her practice on trauma and on grief and loss, with particular attention to infant loss, miscarriage, and fertility-related challenges. She brings both personal and professional understanding to these sensitive areas, which informs her collaborative and compassionate approach to care.
Susan’s formal training is in art therapy, and she integrates a mindfulness-based framework into her work. She uses visual processing and art materials as therapeutic tools, which many clients find engaging and which can provide a more direct route to emotional processing.
She is a licensed professional counselor practicing in Colorado. Outside of her clinical work, Susan enjoys spending time outdoors with her family – hiking, boating, camping, and paddleboarding. She also practices yoga and likes to play volleyball.
Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist online can truly help. For a range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and adjusting to life changes – online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is flexibility. Individuals can choose the communication method that suits them best – video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging – making it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule or to access support from different locations.
Therapists who offer online services are licensed professionals, and clients are free to switch providers if they seek a different fit. This approach can make ongoing care more accessible while preserving the core elements of effective therapy.
