Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I have worked as a psychotherapist for 30 years, with most of my experience in community mental health centers, where I work with chronically and severely mentally ill individuals in an outpatient setting. I worked for 3-1/2 years in a residential treatment setting with severely abused and traumatized children and adolescents. I have also been an adjunct professor of psychology for the University of Houston for 22 years. I worked as a Masters level therapist for several years before earning my Ph. D. in psychology in 1998.
Although I consider myself to be primarily a cognitive behavioral therapist, I am also comfortable with interpersonal, client-centered, and Christian counseling modalities. It is my belief that each person has the answers they need for a happy and productive life within themselves, and that my role as a therapist is to help each client find those answers. I believe that all therapy should be based on the core values of empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. I provide a counseling setting which is accepting, non-judgmental and geared toward the personal growth of each client.

Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist remotely can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care for most typical needs.
A major benefit of remote sessions is flexibility. Individuals can choose the format that fits their lifestyle and comfort level – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – making it simpler to integrate therapy into a busy routine.
Licensed professionals provide these services, and clients may switch to a different therapist at any time if they want a different fit. For many people, online therapy makes receiving consistent, professional support more convenient and accessible while addressing the same common concerns that bring people to in-person therapy.
