Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I have worked as a psychotherapist for 30 years, with most of my experience in community mental health centers, where I work with chronically and severely mentally ill individuals in an outpatient setting. I worked for 3-1/2 years in a residential treatment setting with severely abused and traumatized children and adolescents. I have also been an adjunct professor of psychology for the University of Houston for 22 years. I worked as a Masters level therapist for several years before earning my Ph. D. in psychology in 1998.
Although I consider myself to be primarily a cognitive behavioral therapist, I am also comfortable with interpersonal, client-centered, and Christian counseling modalities. It is my belief that each person has the answers they need for a happy and productive life within themselves, and that my role as a therapist is to help each client find those answers. I believe that all therapy should be based on the core values of empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. I provide a counseling setting which is accepting, non-judgmental and geared toward the personal growth of each client.

Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or managing life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care for most people.
One major advantage is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that feels most comfortable, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to maintain consistency over time.
Licensed professionals offer these options, and clients may switch therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. For many, online therapy provides an accessible, practical path to addressing everyday mental health concerns and moving forward with meaningful change.
