Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello. My name is Stephanie. I have been in healthcare and mental health for 35 years, 10 years in nursing, and 25 in counseling and therapy. I have been a high-risk labor and delivery nurse, a school district health director, an at-risk program developer, and a mental health counselor/therapist for children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and special needs and their parents. I now work primarily with an adult population.
My experience has given me a broad understanding of people dealing with difficult issues and stressors in their lives. I am experienced in helping individuals with change, adjustment, esteem, anxiety, trauma, and depression, and parenting.
I am kind, gentle, empathic, positive, funny and a good listener.
I am also serious, thoughtful wholistic, client-centered, and solution-focused.
My goal as a therapist is to help you find solutions to the Issues (problems) that have brought you to counseling. I want to help guide you through the process of determining the relevant issues, your wants and needs, and identifying skills and techniques to build solutions that can continue to serve you through, not only the immediate problem, but throughout life as well.
My goal is to empower you through life’s challenges, transitions and growth.

Stephanie Horner brings 35 years of combined experience in healthcare and mental health, including a decade in nursing and 25 years in counseling and therapy. Her early career included work as a high-risk labor and delivery nurse, and she later served as a school district health director and an at-risk program developer before focusing on mental health counseling.
For many years she worked as a therapist for children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and special needs, and she supported their parents through those challenges. She now focuses primarily on an adult population while drawing on the broad perspective her varied roles have provided.
Stephanie has experience helping individuals cope with change and adjustment, build self-esteem, and address anxiety, trauma, depression, and parenting concerns. Colleagues and clients find her kind, gentle, empathic, positive, and often funny, and she is known as a good listener. She is also serious, thoughtful, wholistic in her approach, client-centered, and solution-focused.
She is licensed to practice as a professional clinical counselor in New Mexico. Her goal as a therapist is to help clients identify the problems that brought them to counseling, clarify their wants and needs, and develop practical skills and techniques that produce lasting solutions – tools that can serve them beyond the immediate issue. Ultimately, Stephanie aims to empower people as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and growth.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One significant advantage is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that works best for them, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and maintain continuity of care.
Licensed professionals provide these services, and if a different therapeutic fit is needed, clients can switch therapists at any time. Online therapy offers a practical, accessible way to pursue support for everyday mental health concerns without sacrificing the quality of care.
