Shelley Sargent is a licensed marriage and family therapist with more than 12 years of clinical experience, offering care in Nevada and Texas. She has worked with people from diverse backgrounds in private practice, schools, inpatient treatment centers, and on military bases, helping with a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, addictions, relationship and family conflicts, depression, trauma, grief, and more.
She holds two master’s degrees—one in counseling psychology and one in religious studies from Southern California Seminary—and combines that training with practical experience to support clients as they navigate change. Her approach is collaborative: she partners with each person to identify what is working and what is not, helps clarify the changes they want to make, and outlines concrete steps to move forward.
Shelley’s therapeutic style is warm, empathetic, and direct. She draws from a variety of interventions tailored to each person’s needs, recognizing that counseling is not one-size-fits-all. She also holds licensure to practice as a marriage and family therapist in Nevada and Texas and maintains a chemical dependency counseling license in Texas.
She values the courage it takes to seek help and is committed to supporting clients as they work toward the life they want. Shelley looks forward to getting to know each person’s unique challenges and helping them begin the journey of change.
