Dr. Shaketha Blankenship is a licensed counselor and nationally certified practitioner who holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. She has more than 25 years of experience working with young children, adolescents, teens, and adults across a wide range of concerns.
She creates an environment grounded in trust, empathy, non-judgment, and encouragement to help individuals meet their goals. Her work draws on an integrative approach that includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness Therapy.
Dr. Blankenship believes people possess the strengths and skills needed for growth, and that those capacities can be developed further when supported with practical tools and resources. She has worked with presentations such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief and loss, parenting concerns, relationship challenges, trauma and abuse, and LGBTQ+ issues.
Her focus is on empowering clients to navigate life’s challenges and become the best version of themselves. She is available to provide support and looks forward to working with individuals seeking help.
For many common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and adjusting to life changes - online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Research and clinical experience support its usefulness for these types of issues.
A major benefit is flexibility. People can connect in the format that suits them best - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule or to access support from home.
Each therapist offering online services is a licensed professional, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they decide a different fit would be more helpful. Online therapy can be a practical, accessible way to begin or continue mental health care.
