Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) currently licensed in Florida. I have 7 years experience in this capacity, as well as 24 years as a para-professional providing crisis response services (CISM, Peer Support) to First Responders (I am a retired Law Enforcement Officer with 28 years of experience). In addition to my first responder work, I have also had the pleasure of providing counseling services to many of the same people that I had arrested. I mention this because it is not where you’ve been or where you’re at, but where you want to be. I value the person.
I have worked with clients over trauma issues, anxiety, depression, coping, existential/quality of life concerns, etc. I take an integrative approach to counseling, adjusting to best serve the client’s needs. I am direct and factual in my approach with clients, as I don’t believe in ambiguity or leaving someone guessing. That being said, effective counseling also requires warmth, caring and support. I find that a sprinkling of appropriate humor helps to facilitate the process, but most of all, sincerity is the key to a successful collaborative experience.
I bring a lot of life experience to counseling, especially trauma/crisis issues for First Responders. I do not just talk the talk, I have walked the walk.

Scott Wetherhold is a licensed mental health counselor who currently holds a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor credential and a Colorado Licensed Professional Counselor credential. He offers five years of experience providing therapy, backed by decades of crisis response work with first responders.
Before and alongside his clinical practice, he served 24 years as a para-professional providing crisis response services, including Critical Incident Stress Management and peer support, and he is a retired law enforcement officer with 28 years of service. That combination of clinical training and lived experience informs his work and brings practical insight to trauma and crisis-related concerns.
Scott works with people facing stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, low self-esteem, depression, coping with life changes, addictions, relationship and family conflicts, grief, anger management, career difficulties, and compassion fatigue. He uses an integrative approach, adapting techniques to meet each person where they are and to address their goals.
His style is direct and fact-based, avoiding ambiguity so clients know what to expect, while also offering warmth, support, and an appropriate touch of humor. Above all, he emphasizes sincerity and values the person – focusing on where someone wants to go rather than where they have been.
Scott is based in Georgia and brings both clinical skills and substantial first-responder experience to his counseling practice.
For many common concerns—such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life transitions—online therapy can be as effective as in-person care. Research and clinical experience both support its usefulness for these everyday issues, making it a viable option for people seeking support.
One of the main benefits is flexibility. Individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that fits their life best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to maintain consistent access to care.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they need a different fit. For many, online therapy offers a practical, accessible route to consistent support while addressing a wide range of emotional and interpersonal concerns.
