Scheherazade Collins is a licensed marriage and family therapist in California (CA LMFT 90931) with 12 years of professional experience. She specializes in working with stress, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, motivation and attention difficulties, self-esteem concerns, and peak performance coaching.
Collins has extensive experience using QEEG-guided neurofeedback to address a wide range of symptoms and diagnoses, and to support clients seeking advanced strategies for elite sports and performing arts performance. While serving as a primary therapist at Linden’s Attention Learning Center and working with hundreds of adults and children, she developed a strong practice applying neurofeedback for Attention Disorders, Mood Disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
She pursued additional training following the guidelines of the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance, and she is a HeartMath Certified Practitioner for stress management. As a former professional ballerina, Collins brings a particular interest in supporting elite performers and professionals in high-stress fields. Her training in sport psychology informs work in peak performance, mental skills training, performance anxiety, coping strategies, career transitions, and issues related to athletic injuries.
Collins also works with gifted children and others operating in high-pressure or elite professions, integrating clinical therapy, neurofeedback, and performance-focused techniques to help clients build on their strengths. She welcomes those who have taken the step to seek support and looks forward to working together.
Many people ask whether online therapy really makes a difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or managing life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One of the major benefits is flexibility - clients can meet with a therapist in the format that best fits their needs, whether by video call, phone, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to incorporate therapy into a busy schedule.
All therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and if someone decides a different match would be better, it is possible to switch to another therapist at any time.
