Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a qualified & registered counsellor with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I have a wide range of experience prior to becoming a counsellor having previously worked in social care settings (learning disabilities, community care & older adults), always focused on empowerment and independent choice. I have worked in mental health exclusively since 2018 in both a private trauma clinic, and within the NHS since 2019.
I work using a Trauma-informed, Person-Centred counselling approach which means I believe that each and every person is innately deserving of respect and are the experts in themselves. I believe that connection is the most important thing in therapy and so I work hard to get to know you and the true impact of your experiences – not who the world tells us we ‘should’ be or feel.
Your feelings and experiences are the most important thing and I will work alongside you to explore your difficulties and empower you to discover your own solutions – at your own pace.
I have experience in helping clients with depression & anxiety; self-esteem & identity; stress & burn out; grief & loss; trauma, and life transitions. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

Sarah Smith is a qualified and registered counsellor with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). She brings a varied background in social care – including experience with learning disabilities, community care and older adults – and has focused her work on empowerment and independent choice throughout her career.
Since 2018 Sarah has worked exclusively in mental health, with roles in a private trauma clinic and within the NHS from 2019. Her practice is trauma-informed and person-centred, reflecting a commitment to treating each person with respect and recognising that people are the experts in their own lives.
Sarah places strong value on connection in the therapeutic relationship and makes time to understand the real impact of a person’s experiences, rather than what outside expectations might suggest they should feel. She supports clients at their own pace, exploring difficulties and helping them to identify solutions that fit their situation.
Her clinical experience includes supporting people with depression and anxiety, self-esteem and identity concerns, stress and burnout, grief and loss, trauma, and life transitions. Sarah believes clients have strengths that can help them face challenges, and she aims to empower and support those taking steps toward a more fulfilling and happier life.
Many people question whether online therapy can have a real impact. For a range of common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions – online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person work for most people.
A key benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that suits them best, choosing between video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to maintain continuity of care when schedules or circumstances change.
Therapists offering online support are licensed professionals, and it is possible to change therapists if a different fit is needed. For many people, online therapy provides a practical, effective way to access support for common mental health and wellbeing concerns.
