Sara Griffith is a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing in Southern California with 20 years of clinical experience. She has spent much of her career working with children and families, especially those with infants and young children, helping with the adjustment to parenthood and the everyday challenges of caring for a young child.
Her areas of focus include relationship issues, family conflicts, parenting concerns, coping with life changes, stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, grief, self-esteem, bipolar disorder, depression, and ADHD. She also specializes in maternal mental health, pregnancy, and parenthood.
Sara’s counseling approach is positive, nurturing, and empowering. Drawing on intuition, life experience, and sound clinical judgment, she collaborates with clients to move them out of stuck places. She practices from an attachment-focused perspective, exploring how past relationships influence the present and supporting steps toward change.
She integrates a range of therapeutic methods as appropriate, including solution-focused techniques to identify and build on strengths, mindfulness practices to increase present-moment awareness, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) to safely explore emotions in ways that support growth. She is also knowledgeable about 12-step recovery approaches. Sara holds a California license to practice marriage and family therapy (CA LMFT 33532).
