Sally Sierra is a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Florida and holding licensure in New Mexico as well. She brings seven years of clinical experience supporting a wide range of clients across the lifespan, including adults, adolescents, children, families, and older adults.
She earned a master’s degree from St. Leo University and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of South Florida. Sally lived for many years in Puerto Rico, where she learned to speak Spanish and developed a deep familiarity with the culture.
Her clinical work covers concerns such as stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, coping with life changes, relationship and family conflicts, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related issues, parenting challenges, anger management, bipolar disorder, compassion fatigue, and ADHD. Earlier practice has also included behavioral issues, attachment disorder, and adjustment disorder.
Sally’s approach is client-centered, focused on creating a trusting therapeutic relationship and a welcoming atmosphere where clients can feel accepted and understood without judgment. She aims to help clients build practical psychological tools to manage complex feelings and life situations.
Her work integrates techniques from several evidence-based approaches to meet individual needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused therapy, traditional talk therapy, psychoeducation, art and art-based activities, and bibliotherapy, among other methods.
Many people wonder whether virtual therapy can produce meaningful results. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been found to be similarly effective as traditional in-person care.
One key advantage is flexibility. Clients can connect with a therapist in whatever format works best for them - video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
All sessions are provided by licensed professionals. If the therapeutic match does not feel right, clients generally have the option to switch to a different therapist at any time to find a better fit.
