Sally Press

Sally Press, LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor), practices compassionate, person-centered therapy with a strengths-based, collaborative orientation. She works with adults, children, adolescents, and families to address a wide range of concerns, offering practical tools to manage anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, personality-related difficulties, relationship challenges, and behavioral concerns.

Sally cultivates a warm and supportive environment where individuals can explore emotions, enhance communication, and strengthen relationships. Her work is tailored to each person or family's needs so that they feel heard and understood throughout the therapeutic process. Communication in sessions is intended to be comfortable and relaxed, fostering a sense of being listened to.

Her clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based interventions, with attention to what will be most appropriate and effective for each client. She has a deep understanding of the developmental needs of at-risk children and adolescents and draws on that knowledge when supporting younger clients and their families. Areas of additional focus include attachment and abandonment issues, autism and Asperger syndrome, blended family dynamics, body image, caregiver stress, communication and control problems, divorce and separation, family conflict, forgiveness, guilt and shame, impulsivity, isolation and loneliness, and questions of life purpose.

Sally's path to this work was shaped by becoming a mother, which inspired a career focused on meaningful, positive impact in the lives of others. In an initial session she creates a welcoming atmosphere, takes a brief history, assesses reasons for seeking support, and begins building rapport while identifying goals to guide ongoing work.
