Robyn Pitcher is a qualified and registered MBACP counsellor (MBACP - Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) based in the United Kingdom, with three years of clinical experience. She works with adults and adolescents and supports people facing a wide range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, grief, interpersonal relationship difficulties, self-esteem problems, and trauma.
Robyn completed her training and early work in South Africa and has worked across a variety of settings with diverse population groups. She has extensive experience supporting people who have experienced trauma, particularly resulting from abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault, and recognises the serious impact such events can have on mental health and everyday functioning.
Her therapeutic practice is rooted in a person-centred approach, while also drawing on techniques from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy. Robyn adapts these methods to each individual, working at a pace that suits the client and tailoring interventions to their specific needs and goals.
In sessions she prioritises a warm, non-judgemental, and compassionate environment where clients can feel validated and respected. Robyn bases her work on trust and mutual respect, encourages open dialogue to explore significant areas of life, and collaborates with clients to develop practical strategies for coping with stress and difficult emotions, with the aim of fostering clarity, personal growth, and resilience.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life changes, online therapy has been found to be as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions for most people.
One major benefit is the flexibility it offers - individuals can connect in the way that suits them best, whether by video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to access support from different locations.
Therapists who offer online sessions are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. For many, online therapy provides a practical, accessible route to professional support when addressing everyday mental health concerns and life transitions.
