Rebecca Heald has worked with young people for more than 20 years and brings a focused, experienced approach to supporting teens and their families as they navigate the challenges of growing up.
As a licensed mental health counselor in Florida (license MH19159), she has 11 years of experience providing therapy services and has helped adolescents address academic struggles, anxiety, depression, shifting family dynamics, grief, parenting conflicts, relationship problems, self-regulation, trauma recovery, and planning for college and career goals.
Rebecca works collaboratively to pinpoint areas of focus, set clear therapeutic goals, and build practical steps and strategies to reach those goals. Treatment is tailored to each young person’s needs and may draw from Solution-Focused approaches, cognitive behavioral techniques, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, or trauma-focused methods, depending on the objectives established in therapy.
She has experience with a wide range of concerns including stress, attention differences, LGBT issues, intimacy-related and sleeping disorders, family conflicts, parenting concerns, anger management, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, depression, and compassion fatigue, and she adapts interventions to fit each case.
Rebecca is approachable and professional, and she looks forward to getting started with those seeking support.
Many people wonder whether virtual sessions can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is flexibility - clients can meet with therapists in the format that works best for them, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This makes it easier to fit therapy into busy schedules and to connect from wherever is most convenient.
Sessions are conducted by licensed professionals, and if a different therapeutic fit is desired, clients have the option to switch therapists. Online therapy can be a practical, effective way to access support for many everyday mental health concerns.
