Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a licensed mental health counselor in Massachusetts, with extensive experience in trauma-focused therapy.
I have extensive experience working with couples, helping partners to improve communication and rekindle their love for each other. I love working with families, helping parents and children to improve communication and become closer. I have experience working with adopted children and adoptive families.
I am proficient in body-based approaches, developed by Bessel Van der Kolk, Peter Levine, and their colleagues.
I am certified as an EMDR therapist. EMDR is a cutting-age approach to treating severe trauma, including complex trauma (defined as accumulation of “relatively insignificant” traumatic events through life).
My experience is international. Even though all my psychology degrees and trainings have been received in the USA, I have lived and worked in a few other countries, culturally drastically different. I have a good understanding of challenging of adjusting to a new culture, as well as navigating cultural differences with friends and family members (parents, husbands/romantic partners, and even your own children)

Raisa Stinson is a licensed mental health counselor based in Massachusetts with seven years of clinical experience and a focused practice in trauma-informed care. She works extensively with couples to strengthen communication and help partners reconnect, and she enjoys supporting families as they improve interactions and deepen bonds.
Raisa has particular experience with adoptive families and with adopted children, offering informed guidance that acknowledges the special dynamics these families can face. She draws on body-based therapeutic approaches developed by clinicians such as Bessel Van der Kolk and Peter Levine to support healing that includes the body as well as the mind.
She is also certified in EMDR, a cutting-edge method for addressing severe and complex trauma (including the accumulation of relatively small but impactful traumatic events over time). Although all of her psychology degrees and professional training were completed in the United States, Raisa has lived and worked in several culturally different countries, giving her practical insight into the challenges of adapting to a new culture and managing cultural differences within families – with parents, romantic partners, and even children.
Raisa holds a Master of Arts degree and is licensed to practice as a mental health counselor in Massachusetts. Her background blends trauma-focused interventions, couples and family work, and somatic approaches to help people move forward after difficult experiences.
