Peggy Fair

Peggy Fair is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 40 years of experience in mental health care. She began her career in Virginia providing emergency mental health services at a community mental health clinic, and three decades ago she relocated to North Carolina to continue her clinical work.

Over the course of her career she spent 16 years working as a mental health therapist in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Following that period she served as a mental health therapist for the military, working with Marines and Navy servicemembers for 14 years. Alongside full-time roles she maintained a part-time private practice for 23 years, focusing primarily on couples and relationship work during evening hours when partners could attend together.

Counseling couples has long been a professional passion, and she has helped partners resolve conflicts and develop positive coping skills to strengthen their relationships. Her approach is integrative - she draws from multiple therapeutic tools and tailors interventions to the goals each person or couple brings to therapy. She emphasizes collaborative goal setting and practical strategies clients can use to make steady progress.

Now semi-retired and living in Florida, she values proximity to family and the beach while remaining available to support clients. She checks messages several times a day, seven days a week, and typically responds within 24 hours or less. As an LCSW, she brings extensive clinical experience and a client-centered focus to help people move toward the changes they want.
