Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Twenty years ago, my life was turned upside down when my husband walked out the door, leaving me to raise our two year old daughter and dreams I thought we had built together since our second year in college. I couldn’t imagine how I could go on. I couldn’t imagine how anyone who’d been though this sort of pain had gone on. But, to my surprise, I did go on, grow, developed new and stronger emotional muscles. And formed a new dream: I wanted everyone to believe they could get there (peace/happiness) from here (pain/anxiety/confusion). So, I went back to school and, with a lot of family help, got this degree that allowed me to begin helping others help themselves. For over 20 years now, I’ve worked with women growing through divorce, adults facing stage of life changes, people of all ages seeking to believe in – or even identify – their strengths, accept and work on their weaknesses. We start by learning to trust each other; we start by trusting the client’s self empowerment (even if the client doesn’t really believe – at first). Then we form a two-person team and reframe negative beliefs, pinpoint resources, figure out distorted thoughts that are holding the client back and need to be abandoned. We do in-session exercises, refer to research and books, and connect dots in belief sets until…we get there from here. And, almost all the time, we do. We will – you and I. Almost no problem is too big such that two people working hand in hand with a sound knowledge base, can’t overcome it. In time, the problem that seems so big today will be a learning experience and a memory. We’ll get you there. Let’s start now.

Patrice Harris brings twenty years of clinical experience and a personal history that informs her compassionate approach to therapy. After her husband left when their daughter was two years old, she faced the uncertainty and grief of rebuilding a life and a future that had once seemed secure. Through that struggle she discovered inner strengths, developed emotional resilience, and chose a new purpose – to help others believe they can move from pain, anxiety, or confusion toward greater peace and satisfaction.
Following that turning point, Patrice returned to school and, with family support, completed the education that prepared her to support others in their healing. She is a licensed professional counselor in Alabama (LPC01841) and has spent more than two decades working with women navigating divorce, adults adjusting to life-stage changes, and people of all ages seeking to recognize strengths and address challenges.
Her work begins by establishing trust and honoring the client’s capacity for self-empowerment, even when that confidence is not yet evident. Patrice and each client form a collaborative team that reframes limiting beliefs, identifies resources, and addresses distorted thinking patterns that block progress. Sessions often include practical exercises, references to relevant research and books, and guided reflection to connect beliefs and behaviors in ways that promote change.
Patrice believes that, with a sound knowledge base and a cooperative therapeutic relationship, most problems can be transformed into learning experiences. Over time the issues that feel overwhelming often become memories and sources of growth. She meets clients where they are and works alongside them toward attainable goals.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person treatment.
A major benefit is convenience – clients can connect in the format that best fits their needs, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals and therapists, and clients may choose to switch to a different therapist at any time if they seek a different therapeutic fit. For many people, remote therapy offers an accessible, practical path to addressing everyday mental health concerns and progressing toward their goals.
