Nicole Lambert is a New York-based therapist who combines training and practical experience to support people working through anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, self-esteem and body image issues, addictions, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, grief, eating disorders, anger management, career difficulties, and bipolar disorder.
She is licensed to practice as a mental health counselor in New York and holds national certification, credentials that reflect her formal training and adherence to professional standards (NY LMHC 008027). With four years of clinical experience, she works with young adults, middle-aged adults, and older adults, and supports a wide range of individuals who want to improve their mental and emotional health.
Nicole takes an eclectic, client-centered approach and places strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. She aims to “walk alongside” each person, viewing clients as experts on their own lives while guiding them toward practical solutions and greater empowerment. Her work balances attention to the present and to patterns from the past when those connections help create insight. She also encourages clients to adopt a form of exercise that fits their lifestyle and works with athletes and people who live active lives - as well as those who want to become more active but face barriers.
Her therapeutic toolkit includes cognitive behavioral therapy skills, interpersonal therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy skills, behavioral interventions, insight-oriented therapy, relational-cultural theory, reality feedback, narrative therapy, and existential approaches. Nicole strives to help people find a sustainable balance between emotional, mental, and physical health and supports clients in building a life that feels healthier and more comfortable in their own skin.
Outside of her practice she and her husband care for three dogs - a German Shepherd, a lab and shepherd mix, and a Doberman. She recently began running with the Doberman (he’ll be 2 in October), and she is half Ukrainian, having participated in various Ukrainian group activities including a Ukrainian dance ensemble.
