Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello!
My name is Nichole Garcia and I am a licensed masters social worker, LMSW. I have been working in the field for about 13 years and started out working with children and teens at a residential shelter in 2012. I also have experience working with adults with bipolar disorder, anger issues, trauma and abuse, personality disorders, ADHD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, PTSD, the LGBTQ population, relationship issues, and many more. I have worked with those adults since 2017 at a community mental health agency (CMH). While working at a CMH, I have gained knowledge in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) where I have had the privilege to attend multiple trainings in DBT and prolonged exposure. I also have been able to attend trainings for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), eating disorders, and substance use disorders.
I graduated at Wayne State University in 2012 with my Bachelors in Social Work and then in 2013 I enrolled in a 10 month accelerated masters program where I was able to obtain my Masters in Social Work. While attending college, I completed multiple internships working at homeless shelters, residential facilities, and the psychiatric ward.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I am an open person and believe transparency is very important in a relationship. So as long as we can be honest with eachother, it will be a great therapeutic relationship. I am very passionate about my work. I love learning about my clients and ways we can work together to help you. I look forward to working with you and will make it an empathetic, genuine experience. Talk to you soon!
Best regards,
Nichole Garcia, LMSW

She began her career working with children and teens at a residential shelter in 2012 and has worked with adults in a community mental health agency since 2017, providing care for people facing bipolar disorder, anger-related concerns, trauma and abuse, personality disorders, ADHD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, PTSD, and issues affecting the LGBTQ population, among other concerns.
She graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2012 and in 2013 enrolled in a 10-month accelerated master’s program where she earned her Master of Social Work. During her education she completed multiple internships at homeless shelters, residential facilities, and a psychiatric ward, experiences that helped shape her clinical foundation.
Her clinical training includes substantial work in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — including multiple DBT trainings and exposure therapy — as well as additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), eating disorders, and substance use disorders. This combination of formal education and specialized training informs her approach to care.
Nichole holds licensure as a licensed master’s social worker in Michigan; her LMSW credential and license number (6801105314) indicate graduate-level social work preparation and state recognition to practice. She approaches therapy with passion and a focus on transparency, valuing honest communication as the basis for a strong therapeutic relationship. She aims to make the experience empathetic and genuine, and welcomes questions from prospective clients as part of building collaborative care.
For many common concerns — such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or adapting to life changes — online therapy has been found to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Research and clinical practice support its utility for a wide range of everyday mental health needs.
One of the main advantages is flexibility. People can meet with therapists in the format that fits their life best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to attend sessions around work, family, and other commitments.
Another practical benefit is continuity of care. Licensed professionals provide structured therapeutic support through these modalities, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they need a different fit. For many, the combination of evidence-based approaches and convenient access makes online therapy a viable and effective option.
