Nancy Woliter is a Registered Counsellor with nine years of professional experience, and she holds membership of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC). She practises as a Person-Centred Counsellor and blends that approach with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy when appropriate.
She has worked with adults in both short-term and long-term therapy to address issues such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship difficulties, addictions, trauma, low self-esteem, separation and divorce, sexual abuse, and self-harm. Her work is tailored to each person’s needs, recognising and respecting individual differences.
Nancy aims to provide a non-judgemental and confidential safe space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings at a pace that suits them. She supports people to build on their strengths, increase self-awareness, develop helpful perspectives, and learn practical strategies and techniques to manage life’s challenges.
Working collaboratively, Nancy helps clients find new ways of coping and encourages experience of life in a more positive way.
Many people ask whether remote counselling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been demonstrated to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility - clients can choose the format that fits them best, whether that is video calls, phone appointments, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All participating practitioners are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different match would work better. Online therapy offers an accessible way to work with trained therapists using a range of communication methods that suit individual needs.
