Nancy Lucas has practiced as a therapist for more than 10 years. In her full-time daytime position she works with women who are entangled in the legal system in various ways, and she has previously provided therapy to children, adolescents, couples, and adults. She is a licensed professional counselor in Oklahoma.
She believes life is too short not to pursue happiness and that everyone should strive toward that goal. Nancy values healthy relationships between two people as unique and worthy of care, while acknowledging that the journey through a relationship can be complicated. She welcomes clients of all sexual orientations, races, and cultures, embraces individuality, and emphasizes that poor communication is the number one reason for troubled relationships.
Her counseling style is relaxed and collaborative; she works alongside clients to build awareness and to uncover answers together. She often uses laughter and humor as part of the therapeutic space when appropriate. Nancy is trained in Seeking Safety and in Finding Your Best Self by Lisa Navajits, and she also draws on the 5 Love Languages as a helpful tool.
If a client is ready to begin the work toward solutions, Nancy is prepared to support that journey. She seeks to help people who want to help themselves, and she will not pressure anyone to commit to future sessions while encouraging them to schedule when they are ready. She makes every effort to accommodate clients' schedules, checks messages every day, and responds at a minimum within 12 to 18 hours.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly make a difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main benefits is flexibility - people can connect in the way that feels most comfortable, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Licensed professionals deliver care through these remote options, and if someone feels another therapist would be a better fit, they can switch at any time. For many clients, online therapy offers an effective and convenient way to address everyday mental health needs.
