Nadia Samhouri

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Registered Art Therapist in Michigan with over 14 years of experience working as a School Counselor and Art Therapist. I have worked with individuals with a wide range of concerns including bullying, self esteem, discrimination, relationship issues and parenting problems. I have also helped many people communicate more freely by incorporating simple art techniques through our talk therapy sessions. At times, it helps to talk when there is not an actual problem or situation, but just as a release of sorts of daily life stressors.

My counseling style is open and light. I believe in treating people with respect, open-mindedness, and humanity. I utilize cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and rational-emotive counseling. We will identify what your goals need to be and break them down into small, achievable, non-intimidating steps.

There is nothing wrong with “good selfish”. We take care of our bodies, our spirit and our health…. mental health is just as important!

About

Nadia Samhouri is a Michigan-based counselor with more than 14 years of experience working as a school counselor and art therapist. She is licensed to practice professional counseling in Michigan and is also a registered art therapist, combining verbal therapy with simple, accessible art techniques to support communication and emotional expression.

Her work has addressed a broad range of concerns, including bullying, self-esteem, discrimination, relationship challenges, and parenting problems. By integrating straightforward art activities into talk therapy, she helps people communicate more freely and provides an outlet for everyday stressors even when there is not a single, clearly defined problem.

Nadia’s approach to counseling is open and light, grounded in respect, empathy, and humaneness. She draws from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and rational-emotive methods to help individuals identify meaningful goals and break them into small, achievable, non-intimidating steps.

She values the idea of healthy self-care and the importance of mental and emotional wellbeing – what she refers to as “good selfish” – and attends to the whole person in therapy. Nadia welcomes conversations about growth and change and invites people to reach out when they are ready to begin.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether virtual counseling can truly make a difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.

One of the primary advantages is flexibility – individuals can connect in the way that feels most comfortable, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into daily life and to maintain continuity of care during transitions.

Each participating clinician is a licensed professional, and you can switch therapists if you would like a different fit. For many everyday mental health concerns, online therapy can offer accessible, effective support that adapts to a person’s schedule and preferences.
