Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I don’t see myself as a “therapist.” I see myself as support. Someone you can talk to. I want to help you find purpose and happiness in your life. You are struggling. I know you are. I want to help you find balance and be successful in your future. I have a strong desire to help people through therapy and education. I want to teach you the skills you need to help yourself.
I have experience working with all different types of symptoms. I like to get to know people. I like when people get their “ah-ha” moment—when they light up and figure it out. You will do the work, and I will get to be there for it. That’s why I do what I do.
I have experience in many different areas of clinical work. I volunteered in a hospice clinic for about one year. I was able to sit next to people in their final moments. Working with those families was the most rewarding experience because I got to be there with the people they love when they couldn’t. Working people who impacted by death and dying is my truest passion.
I have almost two years’ experience working at an addiction center/homeless center working with individuals and running groups. This is not my passion, but I met several colleagues, and I learned a ton about myself as a therapist and as a person here.
I worked at a therapy agency for three years. I worked with families, survivors of abuse, and children. I used trauma-focused processed to help my clients manage symptoms and develop healthy coping skills to thrive. I decided to leave this agency because it also wasn’t my passion. Additionally, I wanted to be home more to be with my family.
My therapy approach is non-judgmental, kind, gentle, and goal driven. I can help you help you see both sides of any situation and find the answers you already have inside of you, by listening and helping you to be rational. I will help you keep moving and growing in your life. I can help you acknowledge good and bad feelings and validate them. I will also teach you to accept them as feelings and not fact. Together, we can sort this out.

Monica Massengale does not present herself merely as a therapist but as a source of support – someone people can talk to as they work toward greater purpose and happiness. She is licensed in Nebraska as a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner, credential NE LIMHP 2804, and brings four years of clinical experience to her work.
Monica aims to help individuals find balance and build a successful future by combining therapy with practical education. She focuses on teaching the skills clients need to support themselves, helping them move from struggle toward steadier footing.
She has experience addressing a wide range of symptoms and values getting to know each person she works with. Monica appreciates witnessing those revealing moments when someone has an “ah-ha” realization and begins to light up – she joins clients in doing the work and being present for their progress.
Monica volunteered in a hospice clinic for about one year, sitting with people in their final moments and working alongside families during a difficult time. That experience was especially meaningful to her and remains a central passion in her clinical interests.
She also spent almost two years at an addiction and homeless services center, facilitating groups and supporting individuals. While that setting was not her primary passion, it offered valuable professional growth and meaningful connections with colleagues.
For three years Monica worked at a therapy agency with families, survivors of abuse, and children, using trauma-focused processes to help clients manage symptoms and develop healthy coping skills. She chose to leave that position both because it was not the right long-term fit and because she wanted to be home more with her family.
Her therapeutic approach is non-judgmental, kind, gentle, and goal-driven. Monica helps people consider different perspectives, uncover answers they already hold, and apply rational steps toward change. She supports ongoing growth by acknowledging and validating both positive and difficult feelings, and by teaching clients to accept feelings as feelings rather than facts. Together with those she works with, Monica helps sort through challenges and move forward.
For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. This approach can be a practical option for people seeking help with everyday mental health needs.
One major benefit is flexibility. Individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that suits them best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – making it simpler to fit care into a busy life.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they need a different fit. For many people, online therapy provides accessible, effective support delivered in a way that aligns with their schedule and communication preferences.
