Melinda North is a retired educator who spent more than 30 years working in special education before returning to school to study counseling. She is licensed in Oregon as a Licensed Professional Counselor (OR LPC C9295) and has four years of professional practice as a therapist.
She has experience supporting people dealing with stress, anxiety, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, grief and coping with loss, and parenting concerns. Melinda draws on her background in education and counseling to offer practical, compassionate care.
Her approach focuses on creating an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. She acknowledges that beginning therapy takes courage and expresses pride in those who take that first step.
For many common concerns - such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life transitions - remote therapy can be just as helpful as in-person sessions. Research and practice have shown that these issues are often effectively addressed through online formats.
One major benefit is flexibility. Individuals can choose the communication method that fits their needs and comfort level - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to incorporate counseling into a busy schedule.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to request a different therapist at any time if they prefer a new fit. Online therapy expands access to licensed care while offering multiple ways to connect that match personal preferences.
