Mary Jo Ayllon

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, and I have been practicing therapy for 8 years. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, grief, anger, abuse and trauma, OCD, ADHD, low self esteem, stress management, multicultural issues, racism, and adjusting to new life changes. I am also a parent and a pastor’s wife, and I have experience working with parenting struggles, spiritual concerns, and church problems.

My therapy style is meant to encourage comfort, trust, motivation, and hope. My goal is to meet you where you are and walk with you towards where you want to be. I believe therapy should be goal oriented, but that each person has a different pace working towards those goals. I utilize approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and humanistic therapy. I try to adjust my approach to the needs and goals of each individual client.

If a client desires, I am also trained and able to use a Biblically integrative approach to therapy. As a Christian, I see the importance of using a Biblical worldview that reminds us that we are all created in God’s image and with great dignity, but we all also experience the curse of sin in every aspect of our lives and the world around us. We feels the affects of betrayals, broken relationships, jealousy, pride, sickness, and pain. A faith-based approach to therapy that uses psychology but is also grounded in biblical truths allows us to see ourselves and our struggles on a deeper level, and also gives us hope and assurance that we are not abandoned and left to figure things out all on our own.

Starting therapy is a courageous step towards getting unstuck and moving towards healing, restoration, and a life of joy. I would be honored to work with you along this journey!

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and major life transitions – online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One major benefit is convenience. People can choose the communication method that fits their life best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility can make it easier to keep therapy consistent and accessible.

Licensed professionals provide care through these remote options, and clients are free to change therapists at any time if they want a different fit. For those managing everyday mental health needs, online therapy can be a practical and effective way to get support.
