About

Marjorie Ann Robinson earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama in 2010 and began her professional journey working with the local homeless population during her first year after graduate school.

She later transitioned into clinical practice with a local organization, providing care for adult and adolescent clients who were facing mental health and substance use challenges.

Marjorie utilizes a range of evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.

She is committed to holistic well-being and guides individuals toward emotional and mental balance by addressing the whole person. Her approach considers personal strengths and the many interconnected factors that shape experience, drawing on the eight pillars of holistic health - physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, environmental, occupational, and intellectual.

Live appointments are typically 45 minutes and can be scheduled for 30 minutes when appropriate. Marjorie asks clients to make punctuality a priority; arriving more than 15 minutes late will require rescheduling. Cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance when possible, and she requests that clients notify her promptly if scheduling conflicts arise so she can do her best to accommodate changes.

When preparing for a session, clients should not be driving or engaged in potentially dangerous or distracting activities such as watching television. If a client must be driving, they should inform her ahead of time and the appointment will be rescheduled. Clients are also asked to be appropriately dressed and conduct themselves respectfully during sessions.

Please note that Marjorie is not available for emergency services. If a client feels they might harm themselves or someone else, they should contact a family member or friend, call 911, call 988, or go to the nearest emergency room.
