Madison Smee is a licensed counsellor based in Queensland with over three years of experience walking alongside people as they navigate life’s challenges.
Her work has included supporting survivors of sexual and domestic violence, people in crisis, and those moving through trauma, PTSD and addictions. She also works with LGBTQ+ related experiences, individuals facing significant life transitions, and people with a range of other mental health concerns.
Madison adopts a holistic, person-centred approach that honours the connection between mind, body and spirit. She believes people are the experts in their own lives and that deep wisdom and resilience exist within them. Her role is to hold space, bring curiosity - and sometimes a touch of humour and banter - to help clients reconnect with the parts of themselves that know how to heal and grow.
Counselling with Madison often feels like a natural conversation - gentle, down-to-earth and collaborative. She treats therapy as more than working through difficulties; it is a process of uncovering resilience, rediscovering joy and creating meaningful change. Taking that step is an act of courage, and Madison is available to support and walk alongside people on their journey.
Outside of counselling she lives with a lot of energy and curiosity. Madison plays netball, scuba dives, loves animals, hosts pub trivia, and is a music lover who DJs and MCs. She is passionate about travel, exploring new places and meeting people from all walks of life, and she speaks conversational German. These interests often feed into her work, whether by bringing a sense of adventure, creativity, or a well-timed laugh. She looks forward to meeting you.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main advantages is flexibility. People can connect with a therapist in the way that suits them best - through video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into everyday life.
All therapists are licensed professionals, and it is possible to switch therapists at any time if a different fit is desired.
