Lisa Waltrip is a licensed professional counselor in Missouri with six years of experience in the mental health field. She has served in community roles such as an Integrated Health Specialist, where she helped clients identify and reach personal goals while offering therapeutic interventions to support progress through life’s challenges.
In her work as a Clubhouse Unit Leader, Lisa assisted clients in managing their mental health and developing practical life skills aimed at returning to the workforce or pursuing post-secondary education. As a clinically based therapist, she has worked with children and adults across the lifespan, applying play therapy techniques and trauma-focused approaches to address a wide range of concerns.
Lisa has completed extensive trainings including coursework in play therapy, Zero Suicide, Trauma Informed Care, and Grief Counseling. She has experience supporting people across diverse ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, races, cultures, spiritual beliefs, educational levels, sexual orientations, and with cognitive impairments or mental health diagnoses.
Her practice is client-driven and strength-based, taking into account family dynamics, available supports, and unresolved past trauma within a solution-focused therapy setting. Lisa’s goal is to support clients of all ages on their journey of healing and toward finding inner peace so they can choose to live and experience their best life. Her sea turtle logo reflects longevity, peace, grounding, ancient wisdom, and emotional strength - qualities she aims to bring into the therapeutic process.
Lisa specializes in areas including stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, grief, depression, addictions, LGBT concerns, relationship issues, family conflicts, self-esteem, and coping with life changes. She typically works Monday through Friday from 7 to 5. Please allow 24 hours for a response; messages sent Friday afternoon through Monday morning will be returned the following work day.
Many people wonder whether online therapy truly helps. For common challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or managing life transitions, evidence shows that remote therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care.
A major benefit is flexibility - individuals can connect in the way that best fits their routine and comfort level, whether through video calls, phone appointments, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility often makes it easier to maintain consistency in care.
All providers offering remote services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they decide another fit would be better. Online therapy can therefore be a practical, adaptable option for many people seeking support.
