Lisa Rivers is a licensed psychologist practicing in Minnesota with 29 years of clinical experience. She has worked with people managing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, grief and trauma.
Her counseling approach is warm and supportive and emphasizes a person-centered orientation that draws on an individual’s existing strengths. Identifying and strengthening coping skills is a key part of how she helps people work through difficulties, and she focuses on building a therapeutic relationship that feels trusting, respectful, and comfortable.
Lisa collaborates with each person to define goals and to pursue the outcomes they want from therapy. She believes most individuals can move past struggles and that therapy can help highlight and make better use of the abilities they already possess.
She typically begins with a brief intake to ensure a good fit and asks that an intake be completed before scheduling an appointment. Her usual hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday and until 3:00 pm on Friday. Lisa is licensed to practice psychology in Minnesota - license MN Psychologist LP 3666 - and would be honored to assist someone on their journey toward improved well-being.
Many people question whether online therapy makes a real difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit of remote care is convenience. Clients can connect with therapists in the format that suits them best - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Each therapist is a licensed professional, and clients have the option to change therapists if they prefer a different fit. Online therapy offers a flexible, professional way to pursue support for many everyday mental health challenges.
