Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello there! My name is Linda Burrell and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) for the state of Florida. I am also a Board National Certified Counselor (NCC). I graduated at the top of my class from Nova Southeastern University and interned at Harbor House (Domestic Violence Shelter). I have many years working in the federal government for the Veterans Healthcare System, Department of Army and the Department of Navy; serving the armed forces by assisting them with their mental health and career counseling needs. I have also worked in the Social Services arena for local agencies. I come with 12 years of experience as a mental health counselor working with adults, adolescents and children in both individual and group settings.
I assist individuals with a variety of issues (but not limited to) such as; PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), Substance abuse, Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment Disorder, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders and family issues. I have also been extremely instrumental in helping those experiencing Domestic Abuse. My theoretical approach in most cases is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy; but have on occasion switched my theoretical approach to meet the current need of the client. I am a believer that no one shoe size fits all and that every client is different.
I am committed to working with you in helping you work through your issues. I am very genuine, empathetic and a strong believer in rapport building, trust and respect as the foundation for an effective client-provider therapeutic relationship. There may be times in the counseling session where exploration of thoughts, feelings, personal history and beliefs about one’s self may be uncovered; and at the moment it may not feel very good and even uncomfortable. However, together we can work through it. The success and outcome of the counseling depends on your willingness to be open, committed and involved in the process. I look forward to working with you; as we join forces together in helping you move towards your goals.

Linda Burrell is a Florida-licensed mental health counselor with national board certification who brings 12 years of clinical experience to her practice. She earned her degree from Nova Southeastern University, graduating at the top of her class, and completed an internship at Harbor House, a domestic violence shelter.
Her background includes many years working in federal settings such as the Veterans Healthcare System and positions supporting the Department of the Army and the Department of the Navy, where she provided mental health and career counseling to members of the armed forces. She has also worked within local social services agencies. Over her career she has counseled adults, adolescents, and children in both individual and group formats.
Linda assists people with a wide range of concerns, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and Military Sexual Trauma (MST), substance use issues, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, family conflicts, and domestic abuse. She has been especially involved in supporting those experiencing domestic abuse.
Her primary therapeutic approach is cognitive-behavioral therapy, but she adapts her methods as needed to meet each client’s circumstances. She emphasizes genuine empathy and prioritizes rapport, trust, and mutual respect as the foundation of effective therapy. Sessions may involve exploring thoughts, feelings, personal history, and self-beliefs, which can sometimes feel uncomfortable in the moment; Linda works collaboratively with clients through those challenges. The outcome of counseling depends on a client’s willingness to be open, committed, and engaged, and she looks forward to partnering with individuals to help them move toward their goals.
For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions, online therapy can be an effective alternative to in-person care. Studies and clinical practice have shown that, for these issues, remote therapy often matches the outcomes of traditional face-to-face sessions.
One major advantage is convenience – clients can connect with therapists in the format that fits their schedules and comfort level, whether by video, phone, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility can make it easier to maintain regular sessions and integrate therapy into a busy life.
Licensed professionals provide care through these channels, and clients can change therapists if they need a different fit. For many people seeking support with everyday mental health concerns, online therapy offers a practical and accessible way to work toward their goals.
