Laurie Gaddy

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a licensed counselor in both Texas and Alabama with almost 15 years of professional work experience. Though I have experience working with a wide range of clients in a variety of professional settings, my specialties primarily include stress-related disorders, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, family conflict, domestic violence, abuse and trauma.

My counseling approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral (CBT); however, I also utilize an eclectic approach at times, including aspects of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, as well as Motivational Interviewing techniques. I tailor my approach and treatment plan to meet the specific needs and challenges of each individual client, and I look forward to finding which treatment modality works best for you.

It takes courage to reach out and ask for help- to take those first steps toward change- or to break unhealthy habits and relationships. I believe we all possess attributes and strengths within that can ultimately assist us in healing from hard experiences and overcoming the challenges we face. I strive, as your therapist, to create an environment in which you feel safe to share your experiences, free of any bias or judgment, and I truly look forward to walking alongside of you as you take those hard, first steps. I am here to listen, support & empower you throughout your own personal journey toward health, healing, and change. I do my best to get your first appointment scheduled within one week. My schedule is somewhat flexible, so if the hours listed on my calendar do not work for you, just ask!

I look forward to working with you!

She also assists with grief, parenting concerns, anger management, self-esteem issues, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, compassion fatigue, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Her primary therapeutic orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and she also draws on an eclectic mix of evidence-based approaches when appropriate. She works from the conviction that people possess inner strengths that can be mobilized to heal from difficult experiences and overcome life’s challenges. As a therapist, she aims to create a safe, unbiased, and nonjudgmental space for clients to share their stories, offering listening, support, and empowerment throughout their journey toward health and recovery.

She strives to schedule a first appointment within one week and maintains a somewhat flexible calendar, so prospective clients are encouraged to ask if posted times do not fit their needs. Laurie looks forward to the opportunity to work with individuals seeking support and change.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people ask whether remote therapy can actually help. For common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions – research indicates outcomes comparable to those achieved in traditional in-person sessions. A key perk is flexibility. You can meet with a therapist in the format that fits your life and comfort level – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to work therapy into a busy schedule. All therapists are licensed professionals, and if you feel a different approach or connection would be more helpful, you can switch practitioners at any time.
