Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Sometimes you need help and can’t manage all by yourself. Sometimes you need objective, compassionate, and professional advice that will help you gain insight and courage to make changes in your life so that can live a full and rewarding life. Sometimes you need to be reminded that you are a wonderful unique person with gifts and talents yet to be realized.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a deep desire to help individuals overcome their mental and emotional problems using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach . Your thoughts are the drivers of who you are and what you can become and do. Negative thoughts can sabotage your life in many areas – your well being, your relationships, your career, your past, your present and your future. I would find it a pleasure to help you capture those negative thoughts, feelings and behavior patterns that keep you from your best using cognitive behavioral strategies that have been scientifically proven to be successful.
I also like to help my clients understand from a scientific perspective just what is going on in their brain-feelings-body in simple terms so that as they learn/practice coping skills that help them to make sense of the reasons they got stuck in the first place – and gain insight into learning/growing from their past pain.
I have been working in the mental health field for over 14 years. I graduated from The University of Houston-Victoria with a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology. I have worked at the Fort Bend County Juvenile Probation Psychological Division, Texana Center, Baylor College of Medicine, BetterHelp, Faithful Counseling, Teladoc and Amwell.
I firmly believe that no matter who you are – what your age – it is never too late to go for your dreams. You are Unique! You have Purpose! Let me help you to uncover the wonderful parts of you that have been covered by the misfortunes that inevitably occur in life.

Kimberley Smith-Maxwell is a licensed professional counselor in Texas with 16 years of experience helping people work through stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, depression, relationship and family concerns, grief, eating and sleeping difficulties, anger, ADHD, self-esteem challenges, compassion fatigue, and life changes. She takes an approachable, professional stance that combines compassion with clear, objective guidance to help people gain insight, build courage, and move toward a fuller, more rewarding life.
Her clinical approach centers on cognitive behavioral therapy, an evidence-based method that focuses on how thoughts influence feelings and behavior. She works with clients to identify and interrupt negative thinking patterns that can undermine wellbeing, relationships, and career goals, and then teaches practical cognitive behavioral strategies to replace those patterns with healthier choices.
Kimberley also explains in straightforward, scientific terms what is happening in the brain, in feelings, and in the body so clients can better understand why they became stuck and how coping skills help them recover and grow from past pain. She emphasizes learning and practicing skills that create lasting change rather than short-term fixes.
She earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from The University of Houston-Victoria and has worked in a variety of mental health settings, including the Fort Bend County Juvenile Probation Psychological Division, Texana Center, Baylor College of Medicine, and telehealth platforms such as BetterHelp, Faithful Counseling, Teladoc and Amwell. She believes it is never too late to pursue one’s dreams, that every person is unique, and that each individual has purpose. Her goal is to help uncover and restore the strengths that have been hidden by life’s inevitable setbacks.
