Kenya Evans-Pinckney holds a Master of Social Work with a specialization in Substance Abuse from Fordham University and brings 13 years of experience to her clinical practice. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York, trained to provide mental health care and guidance at the clinical level.
She currently works at a large not-for-profit organization in New York City, where she provides individual and group supervision to bicultural staff and offers administrative oversight for multiple mental health residential programs.
Previously, Kenya worked as a licensed psychotherapist delivering individual and group counseling to children and adults with mental health and substance abuse diagnoses. Her approach combines cultural competence with established treatment models to meet each person where they are.
Kenya is trained in evidence-based methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care. She works with concerns such as stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, career difficulties, depression, coaching needs, relationship and parenting issues, anger management, self-esteem challenges, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, and compassion fatigue.
She looks forward to connecting with clients and supporting them as part of their journey toward a mentally healthy lifestyle.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns - such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes - online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
A key advantage is convenience and flexibility. Clients can connect with a therapist in the format that fits their needs and routine: video calls, phone appointments, live chat, or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to schedule and maintain care amid busy lives.
All sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists at any time if they feel a different fit would be more helpful.
