Kay Ibarra has been a licensed therapist since 1992. She was first licensed in California, held a license in Louisiana for several years, and has been licensed as a professional counselor in Georgia since 2002, where she also serves as a certified professional counselor supervisor.
Over the course of her career she has worked in community behavioral health and maintained a private practice. When the COVID pandemic required a shift to virtual work, she discovered that many clients appreciated the convenience of meeting from home and the ability to schedule sessions at times that suited them.
Clients have brought a wide range of concerns to sessions, including abuse and trauma, depression, stress and anxiety, co-occurring issues, family conflicts, life transitions, low self-esteem and confidence, and communication difficulties.
She creates a validating, nonjudgmental environment where people feel comfortable sharing intimate concerns. Kay is caring and committed to her clients' growth and well-being.
She is skilled in multiple therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral techniques, solution-focused methods, mindfulness practices, trauma-focused work, acceptance and commitment therapy, client-centered therapy, and existential therapy. Her goal is to help clients find greater peace and happiness, and she welcomes the opportunity to support them on that journey.
