Kathleen Rushing earned a Master of Counseling degree from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2004 and brings 19 years of experience to her clinical work. She has served as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas for 12 years and as a Certified School Counselor for 17 years.
Over her career she has worked with individuals, families, and couples to promote balance and greater understanding within their lives and relationships. She views the human spirit and each client’s capacity for growth as central to the therapeutic process.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas (license TX LPC 63760), she provides therapy grounded in established, research-supported methods. Her primary approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - a form of talk therapy that helps clients identify and reframe inaccurate or negative thinking so that personal challenges can be seen more clearly and managed more effectively.
Clients can expect Kathleen to be attentive, caring, and non-judgmental while collaborating on therapeutic goals. Sessions typically focus on exploring and challenging negative thought patterns, developing practical coping skills, and creating structured steps toward meeting personal objectives. She looks forward to working with clients who are ready to pursue change and improved well-being.
Many people question whether virtual counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
A major benefit is flexibility - clients can meet with their therapist in the format that best fits their life, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to maintain continuity of care and fit appointments into a busy schedule.
Therapists who offer online services are licensed professionals, and clients may choose to switch providers if they need a different match. For many people, online therapy provides an accessible way to address mental health concerns while keeping therapy practical and adaptable to daily life.
