Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
It seems appropriate to share a little about me, especially as you will be entrusting me with personal events in your life.
Having been the other side of the counselling relationship, I have experienced first-hand the benefits of having a counsellor who holds a trusted position in your life. Someone who, offers you empathy, respects your outlook on the world and holds a safe space whilst you uncover and resolve the issues within you that you want to address.
It was that experience that ignited my curiosity to understand how our thinking works. This led me onto my first step to train as an NLP practitioner, transitioning onto hypnotherapy and timeline therapy. I furthered my training to Master level in each of these three areas.
I wanted to be able to utilise my NLP skills within a therapy environment. This is what directed me towards training in counselling and I chose to spend a further four years training in that area. I have been able to hone my skills such that I can support my clients as they identify and explore the issues that are presenting for them. NLP provides me with a series of extra resources that I can offer and invite clients to utilise, helping them address their issues.
This is where I find myself in the current day and I genuinely enjoy being part of the process as my clients navigate their obstacles and move forward, whether that is with counselling alone, or using NLP techniques, hypnotherapy or time-line therapy.
My counselling experience includes:
– Depression
– Anxiety
– Low mood
– Stress
– Grief / Loss
– Bereavement
– Trauma
– Relationship issues
– Panic attacks
– Self harm
– Abuse, physical, sexual and mental
– Personal development
– Low self esteem
– Suicidal thoughts
I can also provide support with other issues that you may be struggling with.
Being a humanistic integrative counsellor means that I am led by you and we go at your pace in our therapy sessions. After all who knows you better than you know yourself. Having three different modalities (counselling theories) that that I utilise also means that our sessions are bespoke to you, by integrating the three modalities to best serve you. We can explore this further in our first session.
I look forward to being the companion on your therapy journey as you work through those feelings and experiences that you wish to focus on.

Kanan Robinson knows the value of a trusted counsellor from personal experience on the other side of the counselling relationship. Experiencing the empathy and safe space a counsellor can provide inspired a curiosity about how thinking patterns influence feelings and behaviour.
Her training began with qualification as an NLP practitioner, followed by study in hypnotherapy and time-line therapy, reaching Master level in each of these three areas. Wanting to bring those skills into a therapeutic context led her to undertake a further four years of counselling training.
With three years of clinical experience, she works as a humanistic integrative counsellor and supports people as they identify and explore the issues presenting for them. The additional tools from NLP, hypnotherapy and time-line therapy give her a range of techniques she can offer and invite clients to use as part of their work.
Her approach is client-led and paced to the individual – after all, the person seeking help knows themselves best. Sessions are tailored by integrating the three modalities where appropriate, allowing clients to work through obstacles and move forward whether they use counselling alone or alongside NLP techniques, hypnotherapy or time-line therapy.
Kanan Robinson’s counselling experience includes supporting people with depression, anxiety, low mood, stress, grief and loss, bereavement, trauma, relationship issues, panic attacks, self-harm, physical, sexual and mental abuse, personal development, low self-esteem and suicidal thoughts. For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. It can offer an accessible way to work through everyday mental health challenges and transitions.
One major benefit is flexibility – people can connect in the format that suits them best, whether by video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to choose the communication style that feels most comfortable.
Therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and clients are free to switch to a different therapist if they prefer another fit. That combination of effectiveness, choice of communication and the ability to change therapist helps many people engage with therapy in a way that works for them.
