Kaitlin Bowen is a licensed mental health counselor in Florida with seven years of experience working with co-occurring disorders in both residential and outpatient settings. She recently moved back into outpatient care to share skills and knowledge with people who need support outside of a rehabilitation facility.
Her practice is oriented toward individuals coping with addictions, trauma, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, as well as certain personality disorder presentations. She also has experience supporting stress management, general coping skills, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and life changes such as moving or loss and managing widespread life stress.
Kaitlin centers her work on education and empowerment, drawing primarily from cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. She blends those approaches with solution-focused techniques, strength-based perspectives, motivational interviewing, and a client-centered stance to tailor care to each person’s needs.
Meeting clients with compassion, respect, and understanding is a priority, while also offering honest feedback and appropriate challenge when it will help progress. Her aim is to equip people with the skills and tools to succeed independently, so that over time they require less direct support in the same ways.
She believes clients are competent and capable, and she is committed to helping them build and maintain the progress they choose to pursue. Kaitlin is enthusiastic about partnering with people as they work toward their goals.
