Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hi! I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Biblical Studies from Southeastern Bible College (Birmingham, Alabama) and a Master’s Degree in Agency & Community Counseling from the University of Montevallo (Montevallo, Alabama). I am also certified by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling as a Supervising Counselor to provide supervision for those seeking full licensure. I am a wife to my wonderful husband, Don. I have two children – a very loyal son and a daughter who now lives in Heaven – and three gorgeous granddaughters. I am a Christian and am active in my local church. I enjoy writing, cooking, reading, sewing, quilting, & playing with my grandchildren.

I have over 25 years experience in the Mental Health field, having worked in a variety of settings including private practice, intensive out-patient treatment for those with severe mental illness and chemical dependency, wilderness program for troubled teens, and outpatient services for children/adolescent/families issues. I have certification in Trauma Counseling. I work with all ages, regardless of sex, race, or economic status. I have provided in-home therapy for at-risk families, and have had extensive training in working with children/adolescents in multiple situations. Areas of specialty include: pre-marital/marital issues, chronic pain/illness, chemical dependency, family dysfunction, educational/ vocational attainment, dealing with trauma/abuse from the past, and grief & loss.

My goals in counseling are:
(1) to walk along the journey with someone to assist them in knowing who they are, and learning to like and accept who they are;
(2) to assist people in forming meaningful relationships, devoid of abuse or manipulation;
(3) to help people form short-term and long-term goals and to ascertain the steps needed to obtain those goals;
(4) to provide services in an atmosphere that fosters compassion and empathy in order to help the client feel safe and comfortable at all times.

I would count it a privilege to assist you in accomplishing your goals.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

For many common concerns—including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes—online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. It offers a practical option for people seeking help for everyday mental health needs.

One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect in the way that suits them best: through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to fit therapeutic work into a busy schedule and to choose the communication mode that feels most comfortable.

Therapists who provide online care are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they would prefer a different fit. For many people, online therapy provides an accessible, effective route to addressing common emotional and relational concerns while fitting counseling into their daily lives.
