Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am licensed in North Carolina with 14 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, parenting issues, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, & depression. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
I further believe that we are part spirit (not just physical, emotional and mental), therefore I like to include a spiritual approach (Bible/Christian Based) to assisting you in dealing with your issues.
I have recently (May 6th, 2024) received my doctorate in Behavioral Health (DBH). what I learned during the tenure of this degree has helped to understand even at a deeper level how our medical and behavioral (mental/substance use) conditions influence our general well-being. I hope to utilize this newly gained knowledge in being more intentional in how I can work with my clients.

Joyce Nyirenda is a licensed clinical mental health counselor practicing in North Carolina with 14 years of professional experience. She works with people facing stress and anxiety, parenting challenges, motivation and confidence concerns, self-esteem issues, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse, grief, anger management, ADHD, and life transitions, and she also offers coaching.
Joyce approaches therapy from a strengths-based perspective, holding the belief that each person is the expert of their own story and brings resources that can help them overcome what feels overwhelming. She recognizes the courage it takes to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and aims to support and empower clients as they take steps toward change.
Joyce includes a spiritual dimension in her work when clients desire it, incorporating a Bible-based Christian approach alongside psychological methods. She also earned a doctorate in Behavioral Health (DBH) on May 6, 2024. That advanced training deepened her understanding of how medical and behavioral – including mental health and substance use – conditions affect overall well-being, and she intends to use that knowledge intentionally in her clinical practice.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
Remote care offers notable flexibility – clients can choose the communication method that fits their life, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to attend sessions consistently and to integrate therapy into a busy schedule.
Therapy delivered online is provided by licensed professionals, and if a different fit is desired, clients can switch therapists at any time. For many people dealing with everyday struggles and transitions, online therapy is a practical, effective option to consider.
