Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello. I appreciate you taking the time to get to know more about me.
I have been on planet earth for a long time. I so appreciate having the opportunity to see the consciousness of mankind expand in many ways. And in many ways, it has stayed the same. I would like to think that my life experience has allowed me to experience a range of emotions, trials and tribulations that contributes to my ability to listen and empathize with your situation.
The primary trait I bring to the table is that of the wounded healer. I grew up in an abusive atmosphere, and spent most of my life trying to “figure it out”.
I have experienced many different types of therapy, many of them cathartic and body oriented. I have always found a sense of home in my body. We now know that the heart and the gut both have more neurotransmitters than the brain.
I also try to convey the power of Mother Earth to support you on your journey. You are never really alone.
The mind is not always the best place to look for solutions, especially for body issues and trauma. Research has proven this to be the case.
I have lived in many places, travelled the world, and look forward to spending my elder years sharing what i have learned.
I love the West Coast.
I grew up in New York City. while there I was a teacher, a dog trainer, a professional dancer, and I performed off off Broadway doing Primal Theatre.
I performed for many years doing Playback Theater, a wonderful form where we played back audience member’s stories for them.
I have been an entrepreneur and business owner for decades, providing tools and information to help people live a happy, healthy, long life.
I have coached and worked with many business owners and family businesses.
I am confident that I can provide you with a compassionate ear, be a witness to your areas of concern, and help move you towards your goals and aspirations.

John Johnson is a seasoned therapist with 25 years of clinical experience who brings personal insight and professional skill to his work. He practices as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and combines a compassionate presence with practical methods to support clients facing stress, anxiety, relationship struggles, grief, trauma, and other life challenges.
He describes himself as a wounded healer, having grown up in an abusive environment and spent much of his life trying to “figure it out.” Those early experiences, paired with decades of study and practice, inform his capacity to listen deeply and empathize with a wide range of struggles.
John has engaged in many forms of therapy himself, including cathartic and body-oriented approaches, and he often emphasizes the importance of feeling grounded in the body. He notes that research points to the heart and the gut as having significant neurochemical activity alongside the brain, and he draws on somatic awareness as part of his work.
He also invites clients to consider the support of the natural world, reminding them that they are not truly alone. John believes the mind is not always the ideal place to search for answers – especially when trauma or bodily patterns are involved – and he integrates approaches that reflect that perspective.
John has lived in many places and traveled widely, and he looks forward to spending his later years sharing what he has learned. He grew up in New York City, where he worked as a teacher, a dog trainer, and a professional dancer, performing off-off-Broadway in Primal Theatre. He also performed for many years in Playback Theater, a form in which audience stories are enacted for the teller.
For decades he has been an entrepreneur and business owner, offering tools and information to help people live healthier, longer lives, and he has coached numerous business owners and family-run companies. He is confident he can offer a compassionate ear, witness areas of concern, and help clients move toward their goals and aspirations.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that fits their schedule and comfort level, choosing video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That adaptability makes it easier to maintain consistent support alongside daily responsibilities.
Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and if a different match is needed at any time, clients may switch therapists to find the best fit. For many people facing everyday mental health challenges, remote therapy offers an accessible and practical path to support and growth.
