Dr. Johannes (Jean) Roux, Ph.D., practices as a licensed marriage and family therapist and psychotherapist in California. He offers personalized Tele-Psychotherapy and Behavioral Health Coaching delivered with cultural sensitivity and inclusivity, and he fosters an atmosphere that is compassionate, accepting, and non-judgmental.
Over the past 20 years he has worked with individuals, couples, and families in both private practice and hospital settings, providing psychotherapy and coaching tailored to each person or family’s needs. His clinical approach draws on cognitive-behavioral techniques, Brief Strategic Psychotherapy, Caring Science, and Narrative Therapy to address concerns such as grief, depression, anxiety, stress, compassion fatigue, addictions, relationship and family conflicts, trauma and abuse, parenting and career difficulties, self-esteem, and LGBT-related issues.
Dr. Roux earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from University San Francisco and completed a Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine at Northcentral University in La Jolla, California. He also completed an Executive Leadership Program at Stanford University in Strategic Human Resources Management and holds certifications in Clinical and Organizational Psychology and Executive Coaching. In addition, he is certified as a HeartMath and Caring Science Caritas Coach.
He maintains private practice hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. During those days he generally checks messages once or twice and responds as promptly as possible, and he asks for patience when replies may be delayed because he is attending to other patient or client professional responsibilities. Dr. Roux welcomes new clients and looks forward to partnering with individuals and families on their journey to optimum well-being.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and adapting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the key benefits is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that best fits their schedule and comfort level, whether via video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability often makes it easier to keep continuity of care and integrate therapy into a busy life.
All sessions are provided by licensed professionals and therapists, and if someone decides they would prefer a different therapeutic fit, switching to another therapist is an available option. Online therapy can be a practical, effective way to access professional support when addressing everyday mental health and life concerns.
