Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I’m Joelle Doherty, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I have been licensed and working in the mental health and substance abuse field for twenty years. I have worked in a range of environments, including community mental health centers, partial hospitalization programs, inpatient psychiatric units, and college counseling centers. I earned my B.S. at the University of Florida, with a major in Psychology, and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University, in Boston. I believe that everyone can use an objective and non-judgmental person to listen to them and assist them in working through issues and patterns that often keep us from feeling happy and satisfied with our lives. I provide a positive and supportive environment and utilize strategies from different modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral, client-centered, supportive, and Mindfulness interventions. My outlook as a counselor is strength-based, and I believe in building on one’s strengths, while recognizing one’s weaknesses, in order to reach one’s full potential.

Many people wonder whether therapy delivered remotely can truly help. For a range of common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life transitions – online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
Remote therapy also offers notable flexibility. Clients can connect in the format that best suits their needs and comfort level, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility can make it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule.
Therapists who provide online services are licensed professionals, and clients may change therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. For many people dealing with everyday mental health concerns, remote therapy provides an accessible and effective option for support and growth.
