Joel Soucie has spent two decades working in a variety of clinical environments with diverse populations. He has provided services to offenders through the Department of Family Services and within prison and parole operations, and has worked in substance abuse programs, mental health settings, and co-occurring treatment facilities.
Having experienced difficult life changes himself and navigating outcomes that did not always match his hopes, he draws on those personal challenges to inform his work. Those experiences have deepened his understanding of the emotions people contend with day to day and have helped him offer empathy without judgment.
Joel brings 20 years of experience to his practice and is licensed to practice in Missouri as a Licensed Professional Counselor - he holds the state counseling credential MO LPC 2016034632. He applies his background to support clients through a range of personal and behavioral health concerns while maintaining a practical, compassionate approach.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been found to be similarly effective as traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is convenience. Clients can meet with licensed professionals in the format that works best for them - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
Therapists offering online care are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they seek a different fit. This flexibility and accessibility make online therapy a practical choice for many people seeking support.
