Joel Britton is a U.S. Military Veteran who brings 25+ years of experience from a distinguished career in the Army to his work in mental health care. He combines that background with clinical training as a Chaplain and as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to address individual, couple, family, and group dynamics in therapy.
He provides faith-informed Christian counseling while using evidence-based therapeutic approaches. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and also has substantial experience supporting people who identify with no faith.
Joel specializes in marriage counseling, crisis intervention, trauma and PTSD, stress management, spiritual core development, resilience coaching, and military and veteran issues. His clinical tools include the Gottman Method for Couples, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dr. Snyder’s Getting Past the Affair Model.
He holds licenses as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Florida (FL LMFT MT5085) and Texas (TX LMFT 205068) and has three years of experience providing therapy services. Joel works to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. He recognizes that seeking help takes courage and aims to support clients by offering steady encouragement and hope throughout their journey.
