Jessica Orndoff acknowledges that beginning therapy can feel intimidating and offers support to those taking this step toward personal growth. She aims to help people become the best version of themselves by providing a welcoming, respectful environment for change.
She is a 2008 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Social Work and has 11 years of experience practicing clinical social work. During that time she has worked with people across the lifespan and has practiced in private practice settings.
Her clinical work has included helping individuals with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and difficulty adjusting to life changes. She addresses a wide range of concerns spanning stress, trauma and abuse, anger management, relationship and family conflicts, grief, sleep problems, parenting and intimacy-related issues, self-esteem and career difficulties, mood disorders such as bipolar disorder, ADHD, and compassion fatigue.
Jessica uses a holistic, individualized approach to therapy, drawing on cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, and other techniques tailored to each person’s needs. Therapy with her is collaborative - beginning where a person is, identifying strengths and needs, and setting goals to move forward.
She is non-judgmental and open, guided by core social work values including service, social justice, the dignity and worth of the person, the importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. Her aim is to build a therapeutic relationship that helps people feel welcomed, safe, and understood.
Jessica is a Maryland-licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C), qualified to provide clinical therapy. If you would like to work with her, please note that her availability for live sessions for new clients is currently limited to the times shown on her schedule. If those times do not match your availability, she suggests selecting a different counselor, as her schedule is not likely to change in the near future. She wishes you the best on your journey and hopes to have the opportunity to work together.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can make a meaningful difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and adapting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major advantage is flexibility - individuals can choose the way of connecting that fits their needs and schedule, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility often makes it easier to keep therapy consistent amid busy lives.
Therapy provided online is delivered by licensed professionals, and anyone who wishes can change therapists if they are looking for a different fit. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible, effective option for addressing everyday mental health concerns and navigating life transitions.
