Jeanette Salinas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Thanatologist, trained as a specialist in grief and loss. She earned her master’s degree and her LCSW in Sacramento, California more than 30 years ago, and brings three decades of clinical experience to her practice in California.
Her clinical work spans clients of all ages - children, adolescents, adults, and older adults - and includes focused expertise in grief and loss, pet loss, life transitions, PTSD, and trauma. She also has experience supporting people with bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and borderline personality disorder.
Jeanette provides support to individuals who are caring for elderly parents or family members who are terminally or chronically ill, and she has developed staged approaches to help people move forward after major life changes. She emphasizes building trust and a collaborative working relationship as the foundation of the therapy process, and she proceeds at each client’s pace.
Her therapeutic approach draws from several evidence-informed methods, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy. In addition to clinical practice, Jeanette supervises ACSW and MFTI candidates as they work toward licensure.
Jeanette practices as a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a clinical social work credential she earned following graduate training. She looks forward to working with people who are ready to begin the sometimes-challenging step of starting therapy, and aims to make that journey as positive and supported as possible.
Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist online can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
One major advantage is the flexibility it offers - you can choose the format that fits your routine best, whether that’s a video call, a phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to maintain consistent care even when schedules are busy or travel is difficult.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and if a different therapeutic fit is desired, you can switch therapists. For many people facing everyday mental health concerns, online therapy provides an accessible and effective option to get started and continue meaningful work.
