Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a licensed psychologist with over 11 years experience. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of difficulties. I specialize in traumatic brain injury, concussion, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, relationship issues, child and adult ADHD, pain, learning, academic, and work difficulties, self-esteem issues, chronic illness, and adjustment to illness and injury.
I believe in treating clients with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My style is empathic and supportive, yet direct. I will challenge my clients to gain more independence and accept responsibility. My primary orientation is cognitive-behavioral, although I do integrate other theoretical orientations on a case-by-case basis. I focus on areas of strength in order to compensate for areas that are not as strong. I prefer a positive approach to problem-solving. I will be sure to treat each case individually and gladly accept your feedback. I look forward to helping you!
Also, just an FYI as there has been some confusion, I typically respond one or potentially two times a day, Monday through Friday. I will not typically respond Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays unless there are special circumstances. This also includes use of the “Urgent” button- this button is only to be used in an immediate crisis situation, meaning a life or death situation where an immediate resource is needed to stay safe. Use of this button over a holiday or weekend will likely result in no response until the next working day, UNLESS the message fits the criteria of a crisis situation. Further, if and when you schedule a live session, I am only doing live text at this point, no video or audio. Live text sessions are scheduled in 30 minute blocks. You are able to schedule one of these per week, plus write in your room as often as you wish and expect a response within 24-48 hours Monday through Friday. Thank you, I look forward to working with you!

Dr. Jamie Spohn is a licensed psychologist practicing in Maryland with more than 11 years of clinical experience; she holds a state clinical psychology license (license number 05590). She has provided care to children, adolescents, and adults across a broad range of concerns and specializes in traumatic brain injury and concussion care, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, relationship and family matters, child and adult ADHD, chronic pain, learning and academic or work-related difficulties, self-esteem challenges, grief and anger, coping with life changes, and adjustment to illness and injury.
Her approach is grounded primarily in cognitive-behavioral therapy, while she integrates other therapeutic perspectives as needed for each individual case. She emphasizes a strengths-based, positive approach to problem solving, working from areas of competence to support growth in areas that feel less secure. Her therapeutic manner is empathic and supportive yet direct; she encourages clients to build independence and accept responsibility, and she tailors each treatment plan to the person, welcoming feedback throughout the process.
Dr. Spohn typically communicates during weekdays and generally responds once, sometimes twice, per day Monday through Friday. She is not usually available on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays unless exceptional circumstances apply. The urgent message feature should be reserved for immediate crisis situations involving risk to life or safety; messages flagged as urgent over a weekend or holiday are unlikely to receive a response until the next business day unless they meet that crisis threshold. Live sessions are offered as live text only – no video or audio – and are scheduled in 30-minute blocks; clients may schedule one live text session per week and may write in their private message room as often as they wish, with expected responses within 24 to 48 hours Monday through Friday.
Dr. Spohn looks forward to working with individuals and families seeking support for the issues she specializes in and is committed to providing respectful, sensitive, and compassionate care.
