Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a California licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 7 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, relationship and parenting issues. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you already have many of the strengths that will assist you in overcoming the challenges in your life.
I obtained my undergraduate degrees, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology and Political Science from U.C. Irvine and I earned my Master of Arts (M.A.) in Psychology from Chapman University in Orange, CA. After getting my license and working in the field of psychotherapy, I took time off to have a family before returning to counseling. I have worked in private practice and in schools. I am also dually certified in Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) as both a Mental Health Practitioner and an Equine Specialist.
My therapeutic approach is based in working with the client to help guide them in finding, within themselves, the solutions that best meet their needs. As mentioned above, I believe you are the expert on you and uncovering solutions that you will most naturally and comfortably use is the goal. Becoming aware of and tapping into those hidden resources and then connecting them to your life situations will be part of our work together. I do use some Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy as well as Interpersonal Therapy resources to assist in recognizing and uncovering solutions.
Taking that first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and shows your willingness to tackle some areas of your life that just aren’t working the way you would like. I am proud of you for getting started!

Gia Castiglia Schwarzer is a California licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA LMFT 41967) with 7 years of clinical experience. She works with adults and families on concerns such as stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and parenting challenges.
Gia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science from U.C. Irvine and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Chapman University in Orange, California. After obtaining her license, she took time away from practice to raise a family and later returned to counseling, bringing that life experience to her clinical work.
Her professional background includes roles in private practice and in school settings. She is dually certified with the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) as both a Mental Health Practitioner and an Equine Specialist.
Gia’s therapeutic approach centers on helping clients identify and activate the strengths they already possess. She views each person as the expert on their own story and collaborates with clients to uncover practical solutions that fit their lives. To support this process she incorporates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy techniques and resources from Interpersonal Therapy to help recognize patterns and develop workable strategies.
Taking the first step toward therapy takes courage, and Gia aims to provide a respectful, supportive space for clients as they begin that work.
Many people ask whether counseling via phone, video, or chat can truly help. For common concerns like stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or managing life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is convenience – clients can connect in the format that suits them best, whether that is a video session, a phone call, a live chat, or messaging inside an app. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and if a different therapeutic match is needed clients have the option to switch therapists. For many people, remote therapy provides a practical, effective way to access support without sacrificing quality of care.
