Gemma Morley is a warm, non-judgmental counsellor who creates a safe space for people to explore what is troubling them. With five years of experience and a Person-Centred counselling training, she builds a genuine, empathic therapeutic relationship that helps clients feel understood and supported.
She works as an integrative counsellor with a Person-Centred foundation, adapting her approach to meet each client’s needs. In practice she draws on a range of interventions in the client’s best interest - this can include talk therapy, creative activities, role play, and mindfulness techniques.
Coming from a creative background, Gemma offers or suggests creative ways to explore feelings when that approach feels helpful. Examples she uses include paints and drawings, sand trays, picture cards, working with dolls or pebbles, and creative writing, as well as other media that can provide an alternative route into an issue.
Creative methods are always led by the client; if creativity is not preferred, Gemma will work in other ways. For some people the idea of talking can feel overwhelming or words may be hard to find, and creative interventions can help to access different sensations, images and relationships. Gemma is a female, non-religious therapist based in the United Kingdom, specialising in stress, anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, depression, and coping with life changes.
